Election Day is today, meaning ballots must be turned in tonight by 8 p.m. in official red county drop boxes.聽
Yakima County voters will decide on approving six school district replacement levies for Mt. Adams, West Valley, Zillah, Grandview, Union Gap and Wapato. West Valley will also have a聽$97 million school bond on the ballot. In Naches, voters will decide a special park district levy.聽
People will only get a ballot if they live in one of those districts. As of Monday, 19.5% of voters .
If approved by voters, the educational programs and operations levies will allow the districts to continue funding programs from 2027-30. The levies need 50% support to pass, while the bond and the Naches special levy require 60% support.
Voters can still register to vote until 8 p.m. but it must be done in-person.
The Auditor's Office recommends using an official drop box today instead of putting ballots in the mail. Official drop box locations can be found on the Yakima County Auditor's Office .
On the ballots, there's a space where voters can put their phone numbers so they can be contacted by the auditor's office if there are any issues. The number is not public and will only be seen by the election office.聽
