Interstate I-90 briefly closed in both directions Wednesday afternoon east of North Bend, as heavy snow on Snoqualmie Pass caused crashes and spinouts.
Crews were working to clear the road at the top of the pass after several semi-trucks spun out around 2:30 p.m., Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson said. He didn't know how many trucks spun out.
There were no reported injuries, Johnson said.
An alert said traffic was shut down roughly between North Bend and Easton, a distance of about 40 miles.
Eastbound traffic reopened by 3 p.m., though cars headed west were still blocked at Easton.
Stevens Pass on Highway 2 remained open as of Wednesday afternoon, though the National Weather Service urged people to avoid travel through the passes if possible. A in the Cascades and Olympics from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday.
Meanwhile, the lowlands around Puget Sound up to 50 mph late Wednesday.
