MEDICAL LAKE — A wide geographical footprint from which to pull talent from benefited the ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç Pepsi Pak in their first doubleheader of the season on Wednesday at the West Plains Cannons.

Quincy's Ashton Barnes-Keller homered, doubled and drove in three runs in a 9-7 nine-inning opening win before Eastmont's Bodie Yale tossed a five-inning complete game, doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs in a 15-1 nightcap victory.

Both are Wenatchee Valley signees without a Senior Legion program in the direct area and give the defending state champion Pak even more depth on an already talented roster.

CBBN player of the year Colby Graham doubled home Dylan Kingston and Barnes-Keller to break the extra-inning tie in the opener and added a pair of singles and an RBI in the second game, when West Valley's Brody Roinestad and East Valley's Grady Jansen each hit RBI doubles. Jansen kept the Cannons in check as a long reliever in Game 1, throwing the final six innings while allowing a pair of runs to earn the victory.

ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç (2-1) will head to The Dalles for a game Friday.

RIVER CITY ATHLETICS BLACK 17, YAKIMA 3: At Parker Faller Field, the Kennewick-based travel ball team scored in six of the seven innings while Kyson Bass went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI and Quinton Allen-Greggs doubled for the Beetles.

West Valley's Ryan Rhoads and Karter Huwe and Davis' Ramon Santoy each added an extra-base hit for RCA Black.

WEST COAST LEAGUE BASEBALL

RIDGEFIELD — A second-inning Derek Almeda solo home run gave ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç an early lead, but Ridgefield scored once in the sixth, twice in the seventh and four more times in the eighth to win 9-3.

The Chaffey College product who hit a pair of collegiate home runs in 44 games needed just 20 plate appearances to record his first WCL round-tripper.

The Raptors won Game 1 and will go for a series sweep of ºÚÁϸ£ÀûÉç (6-5) Thursday.
