The property is moving away from its traditional large-scale buffet format and toward more full-service dining in the main restaurant. The shift features plated lunch and dinner entr茅es, with table service leading the experience.

Guests who appreciate a buffet option can still feast at the all-you-can-eat soup and salad buffet, available 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is an easy lunch or lighter dinner option, with fresh greens, rotating soups, and classic accompaniments.

For those planning a staycation, it may be helpful to note that the Legends Buffet is still offered on Easter, Mother鈥檚 Day, Father鈥檚 Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, in addition to days when the casino hosts live entertainment, including concerts, comedians, and fight nights in the event center.

The full-service menu highlights regional flavors and hearty favorites. Plates such as Columbia River salmon reflect the Pacific Northwest setting, while the Mt. View burger delivers an elevated favorite, stacked with a side of fries. Try the huckleberry fry bread sundae for a sweet treat if you have room.

Beyond the main dining room, the food court provides quick options for coffee, breakfast or a late-night bite. The casino also hosts concerts and shows throughout the year, making it easy to build an overnight around live entertainment.

A slower morning at the spa

The best part of staying overnight is not having to rush out the door.

Inside the Legends hotel, Sage Spa offers a quieter counterpoint to the energy of the casino floor. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming and includes a sauna and lounge, with a menu of treatments that features facials, nail and hair services, and other restorative services.

Sage Spa鈥檚 treatments include two types of wellness pods.

The infrared wellness pod uses heat, red light, calming colors, and other built-in therapies to help people relax, recover after workouts (Legends Casino has a fitness center), and support overall well-being.

The aqua wellness pod is interactive and combines detoxifying steam, infrared and chromotherapy lights, and air-jet massage to create a full-body experience designed to promote relaxation, and ease stress and anxiety. Options include rain massage, Vichy shower, and full-body or foot massage.

Booking a morning appointment allows the relaxation to stretch a little longer. There is something restorative about stepping from a treatment room back into a hotel robe, knowing checkout is only an elevator ride away.

Climbing Ahtanum Ridge

After checkout, trade slippers for hiking shoes.

A short drive leads to the Central Washington Agricultural Museum, where one access point to the Ahtanum Ridge Trail begins near a historic Army tank display. It is an unexpected landmark and a helpful marker that you are in the right place.

The 2.5-mile trail is moderately challenging and climbs steadily, with a steeper grade until about three-quarters of the way up. For those who prefer a more gradual approach, another trail just past the gate offers additional switchbacks to ease the incline.

Schab鈥檚 Bier Den, commonly referred to as The Den, now located at 508 N. 20th Ave., has settled into its new space with a clear focus on what it does best: beer.

The tap list rotates regularly and leans into German styles alongside regional craft selections. Expect crisp lagers, ciders, malty dunkels, and seasonal pours, plus a lineup of Northwest favorites. Staff are quick to talk through the options, whether you are in the mood for something light and refreshing or rich and complex.

Occasional specials, such as gumbo recently, pop up on the menu, which features lite bites, snacks, and sandwiches, and food trucks are on site regularly, adding to the laid-back, community feel. It is the kind of place where the conversation flows as easily as the beer, especially after a morning outdoors.
