An autopsy is expected to be performed Wednesday on a Zillah man who was killed Friday near Toppenish.
Yakima County sheriff鈥檚 deputies were called early Friday for the apparent homicide, said sheriff鈥檚 Lt. Aaron Wuitschick, who referred further questions to detectives.
Attempts to contact Detective Sgt. Jason Pepper and sheriff鈥檚 spokesman Casey Schilperoort were not successful as calls were not returned by press time.
Curtice identified the man as Dennis Davido, 52. Curtice said the death is an apparent homicide, but declined to give a preliminary cause of death.
His death is the 13th homicide in the county this year.
