Kids age 18 and younger are welcome to enjoy free summer meals offered by school districts in Yakima County.

Meals are also available for adults up to age 21 with intellectual impairments or disabilities.

Meals must be eaten on site, and distribution days and times vary.

The summer meals programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction Child Nutrition Services.

Here are some Yakima County school districts offering summer meals to kids:

The Yakima School District will offer on-site meals at eight schools during various times from June 15 through Aug. 7. Sites will be closed on July 3.

Schools offering meals include Barge-Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., McClure, Ridgeview, Franklin, Washington, Stanton and YV-Tech.听

East Valley

The East Valley School District will offer on-site meals at Terrace Heights Elementary School, 101 N. 41st St.听

Meals will be distributed Mondays through Fridays for a month, from June 16 to July 15.

Breakfast will be served from 8-9:30 a.m., and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Union Gap

The Union Gap School District will offer on-site meals at Union Gap School, 3201 S. Fourth St.

Meals will be served Mondays through Fridays from July 6-17.

Breakfast will be served from 8:15-9 a.m., and lunch from 11:15 a.m. to noon.听

Wapato听

The Wapato School District will offer on-site meals at Wapato High School at听1202 S. Camas Ave.

Meals will be given out Mondays through Fridays for about a month, from June 26 to July 24.

Breakfast will be served from 7-8:15 a.m., and lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Sunnyside

The Sunnyside School District will offer on-site meals at Sunnyside High School, at 1801 E. Edison Avenue, and Chief Kamiakin Elementary, at 1700 E. Lincoln Ave.

Meals will be given out Mondays through Fridays at both sites.

Breakfast at SHS will run from 7:30-8 a.m., and lunch from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. from June 15 to July 10.

At听Chief Kamiakin, breakfast will run from 8-8:30 a.m., and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon from June 15 to July 22.听

Lunch also will be offered from 11:30-11:50 a.m. at Kiwanis Park, from 12:10-12:30 p.m. at the Outlook Post Office, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sunnyside Community Center and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Sunnyside Pool from June 15-Aug. 14.

Toppenish听

The Toppenish School District will offer at five locations throughout the summer.听

Kirkwood Elementary School, at 403 South Juniper, will serve lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Mondays through Wednesdays from June 22 to July 15.听

Valley View Elementary School, at 515 Zillah Ave., will serve breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:55 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals will be served Mondays through Thursdays from June 22 to July 15.

The school will serve breakfast again from 7:30-8:30 a.m., and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on July 16 to July 30.听Meals will be served Mondays through Thursdays.听

Toppenish High School, at 141 Ward Road, will serve lunch from 12:25 p.m. to 1 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, from June 22 to July 2.听

Toppenish Middle School, at 107 Goldendale Ave., will serve breakfast from 7:30-8 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon on Mondays through Thursdays. Meals will be served from June 29 through July 30.听

Lincoln Elementary School, at 309 North Alder, will serve breakfast from 8-8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Meals will be served Mondays through Fridays from June 17 through June 26.

Toppenish Middle School will serve meals to-go from 8-9:30 a.m. on Fridays from June 26 to July 31. Preregistration is required.

Mount Adams听

The Mount Adams School District will offer on-site meals at Harrah Elementary School, at听7640 Branch Road.

Meals will be served Mondays through Fridays from June 22 to July 9. Breakfast will be from 8:30-9 a.m., and lunch will be provided from noon to 12:30 p.m.

The Yakima Rotary Food Bank offers meals to families every Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The food bank is at听703 Central Ave.
