The annual Yakima Sunfair Parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, and it's expected to bring thousands of spectators downtown.
Here are a few things to know. Information is from the city and Sunfair organizers:
The route: The parade will travel down Yakima Avenue from 16th Avenue to Naches Avenue.
Traffic closures: Yakima Avenue will be closed to all traffic from North 16th Avenue to Sixth Street from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be no parking along the Yakima Avenue parade route starting at 7 a.m.
Detours will be in place to help drivers navigate the street closures.
Parade staging: 16th Avenue will be closed for staging from Summitview Avenue to Boonie Doon Avenue from 7 a.m. until all parade floats are off of 16th Avenue.
Who will participate: Approximately 200 vehicles as well as other entries are registered, including marching bands, community groups, local candidates, businesses, the dancing horses and the Seattle Seafair Pirates.
