To the editor - I am tired of hearing about people protesting the Zimmerman trial. Blacks v. Hispanics and even whites are drawn into it. This isn't a protest. It's an excuse for violence.
The government is happy to keep it fired up as a cover for its real agendas, whether it may be another unpopular executive order, diverting attention from Benghazi, or passing laws quietly and quickly without notice. The protesters are happy to scream "racist" when they are indiscriminately spreading racial hate and tension to innocent people. How does this solve anything? How is this rational?
I am tired of hearing about slavery. There are more programs and money for all nationalities in our system than ever before. There is no reason someone can't make something of themselves with hard work - hard work being the key phrase.
There were slaves in Babylon in 18th century B.C. Then came slavery in Greece, Muslim countries, Rome and Germany. In fact, there were so many slaves in the Middle Ages in Europe, that the term Slavic people came from the word slavery.
It was a horrible thing. White slavery continues today. I don't see people out raging in the streets over that. It's time to move on.
